How Stephanie Impacted My Life

Stephanie Tubbs Jone's assistant came up to me when I was interviewing Maryland Congressman Albert Wynn at the Black Caucus 2003 in Washington DC. The assistant asked what our show was about and then if her boss from Ohio could be interviewed? She told me of Tubbs-Jones unprecedented accomplishment by being the first Black Woman to be appointed to the committee of committee's on da hill- "The Ways and Means Committee"-Big Money for short.

It was not the prestige that made me like Stephanie, it was her genuine warmth and charisma. She was personable, knowledgable and somehow managed to be great and still not loose her badge of being down to earth. This was my first televison show and most times people don't give you a chance-but Stephanie wanted to help and that boosted my confidence to a whole-nother level. Stephanie was a POWERHOUSE and now I see she was the third in the trio of pioneers we lost this month. She is now with Bernie and Issac and she will never leave our memories and hearts.

God Bless the Tubbs-Jones family during this time.

“Encouraged and Impressed-The DC Festival 2008”

By Tiffani Howard

8/19/08

I am home and I am beaming with appreciation for meeting these beautiful people. These people with such great character and fortitude had all come together for healing, managing public business and commitments to the lives of our families!

The affair was an accomplishment of great faith in God and a unified conscious at hand. The lord even brought out the sun when rain was expected Thursday through Sunday, because we glorified his name and his word through our service for him. We represented all who have endured this evil, who work daily across the country to end it and those who are with the Father and now need us to speak for them; we brought the movement to Washington again for the world to take notice.

Everyone I met from every region of the United States immediately bonded by sharing their testaments of survival, faith, love for humanity and doing the right thing for all people . Everybody was kind, thoughtful and their word was good. People didn’t even take offense when you messed up their name because for me the faces and hearts is what I remember most about my new compadres and hopefully what they learned about me. Compassion was all over the place, we literally cared for each other, took care of the needs of those within our new family and community and it was truly amazing to be a part of the love. People I have never seen before or knew; I now feel embraced by and they feel the same way about me. We all feel it, we all needed this sincerity from those people who know that we are right and our cause is just.

Now all these loving, educated and gifted people need do is keep growing, collectively sharing, building for our better future not just for us but all human beings. This is Gods call and we must not drag our feet because he keeps blessing us.

For so long we have been lied to, lied about and if we do this to each other it will crush us from within. Our mission is opposed by an organized and consistent strain. Remember our past and draw from what happened to the Hittites and you can look into the future of that course of action.

Thank you again for your loyalty, your time and your love.

God Bless,

Tiffani Howard
